WorldCity Thameslink closes for seven months from May 2027, use Blackfriars
City Thameslink will shut from May 2027 for more than seven months while ten escalators are replaced. Thameslink trains will pass the station without stopping and passengers are urged to use Blackfriars, which has capacity for the additional traffic, until the station reopens in December 2027.

WorldSouth Western Railway delays total 9,437 minutes due to trespass
Network Rail and the British Transport Police reported that trespass incidents added 9,437 minutes of delay to South Western Railway services in 2025/26, equal to about six and a half days. The railway, which runs on a 750‑volt third rail, is introducing drones, sensors and smart CCTV to curb the problem.
