Harrow Leisure Centre: what is there, how to get in, where to park
The borough’s biggest sports venue came out of a £1.4m refurbishment this summer, on a new ten-year contract.
Harrow Leisure Centre is the borough’s main sports venue and, on the evidence of what people search for, the single thing residents most often want to look up about Harrow. It sits on Christchurch Avenue in Wealdstone, behind the car park that fronts the road.
What is actually there

Four Trussell distribution centres need a referral. Several community hubs do not.
The council lists two indoor pools, with the main pool at 33 metres, a gym, a group fitness studio, sports and function halls, a sauna and steam room, a café, soft play, squash and badminton courts, and a climbing wall.
The refurbishment, and why the details may have moved
In March 2026 the council announced a new ten-year contract with Everyone Active covering the leisure centre, Hatch End Swimming Pool and Bannister Outdoor Sports Centre, with £1.4m of investment. The work began on 1 March and was scheduled to finish in the summer: a full gym and studio refurbishment, new equipment, upgrades to the ladies-only gym, a larger group exercise studio and an upgraded spin studio, phased so the centre stayed open.
Harrow library opening hours: every branch
Six council libraries, one open seven days, and a community-run seventh that most listings miss.
That is why this guide does not print a price list or a swim timetable. Both were rebuilt during the works, and the operator’s site is the only place they are published. Check there before you travel, particularly for lane swimming and classes.
Getting there
The nearest station is Harrow & Wealdstone — Bakerloo line, London Overground and National Rail — about seven minutes on foot. Buses H9 and H10 stop nearby.
Parking, in detail
The car park is pay and display, card only, or PayByPhone using location code 802078. Charges apply from 07:00 to 23:59 every day of the week. It is £1.30 an hour with the first three hours free, capped at £7 Monday to Friday and £6 at weekends. There is a height restriction of 2.2 metres. The council states this tariff applies up to 31 March 2027.
Who gets in free or cheaper
When it announced the contract, the council confirmed complimentary memberships for cared-for children and care-experienced young people, referred through its Family Support Team; free access for people living with Parkinson’s and their carers; and discounted rates for NHS staff, emergency service workers, full-time carers and people receiving Universal Credit.
What happens to the site next
The leisure centre sits inside the Byron Quarter regeneration area. The council is appropriating 1.7 hectares east of the car park for planning purposes, as part of a masterplan with Wates Residential covering new leisure facilities, park improvements and housing. Phase one, 149 homes, has been submitted.
